SpringerOpen and mathematics

SpringerOpen's commitment to quality open access in mathematics:

On the occasion of the 2016 Joint Mathematics Meetings, I wanted to sketch out briefly some of the things we’ve had going on at the SpringerOpen mathematics portfolio over the past year.

In 2014, we launched Research in the Mathematical Sciences with Ken Ono as Managing Editor in Chief; and then last year we followed that up with Research in Number Theory, also edited by Ken. You can find the link to the podcast we did with him here.

More recently, Thomas Hou joined Research in the Mathematical Sciences as a co-Editor-in-Chief for the journal’s applied mathematics section. You can read our interview with him here.

We also have a collection of sponsored SpringerOpen mathematics journals. With a sponsored open access journal, all the costs have been paid by a third party—for example, The Fields Institute sponsors all the costs for Mathematics-in-Industry Case Studies—so that authors don’t have to pay article-processing charges. You can find a list of sponsored SpringerOpen journals here.
