In 2014 Chemistry Central journals were integrated into the Springer chemistry group, combining the open access expertise and innovation of Chemistry Central with the experience and tradition of Springer. Since then Springer Science+Business Media and the majority of Macmillan Science and Education merged to form the new company, Springer Nature in May 2015. As part of this merger the Chemistry Central journals transferred into the SpringerOpen brand, retiring the Chemistry Central brand at the end of 2015. We see this as the natural progression for the portfolio and expect this will allow the journals to go from strength to strength as part of the expanding fully open access SpringerOpen journal portfolio.
As part of this transfer we also look forward to sharing the high-quality and thought-provoking open access research published across Springer’s chemistry portfolio on the SpringerOpen blog. This blog will also be the place to read about open access developments, conferences, awards and highlights from the field.
For all the latest open-access chemistry content from Springer make sure you follow the SpringerOpen blog and if you have any questions please does not hesitate to get in touch.
